Hello Curie Families,

I would like to welcome you and your family to Curie Elementary for the 2010-2011 school year.  We are looking forward to another exciting new year. This may be your first year at Curie and we are excited to have you on board.  If you are a returning member of our community you can attest to the amazing parent support. The Parent Teacher Association, in conjunction with Curie’s exemplary staff, provide many supplemental services for our students.

Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning.  Keeping together is progress.  Working together is success.”  As we begin this school year together, we hope that we will be able to work together to achieve success for our children.  I hope you will join the PTA and help us continue the cooperative atmosphere that has made Curie so successful.  There are several ways you can volunteer; there are ongoing positions, one time volunteer situations, and opportunities for working parents or parents with young children.  Volunteering is a great way to become informed, stay connected, or make new friends while helping out the school.

We have been very fortunate with the financial support from parents and extended families.  The annual fundraisers (membership drive, gift wrap, Craft Fair, eScript, and Jog-a-Thon) help support classes such as Art, Science, Music, and Physical Education.  When you join the PTA, your membership helps fund incredible programs such as Red Ribbon Week, enriched science curriculum, Games Day, Junior Olympics, and our annual school performance.  We encourage EVERY PARENT to join the PTA, so that we continue funding these programs.  Your contributions, both in dollars and volunteer time, are invaluable.
