General PTA Meeting: February 15 at 7 PM (In-Person & Online!)

In an effort to reach as many PTA members as we can, future General Association PTA meetings will now be held both in-person & online! If you'd like to join us in person, the meeting will be held on campus at Curie in Room B14 (closest parking is the back lot at Curie). We'll be serving refreshments & hopefully seeing both new & familiar faces. If you prefer to continue attending virtual meetings, you may use this Zoom link (which remains the same each month). A reminder will be sent on Wednesday as well. Meetings last one hour & everyone is welcome; the more voices we hear from the better!

Recent Campus Addition: 9 Square in the Air

At the suggestion of Coach A & Coach O, the PTA purchased 9 Square in the Air for students to play at Curie! The kids are having fun playing different variations of the game & trying to make it to the center square without getting eliminated (see pics below of Mrs. Daglio's 5th graders playing). We love being able to add fun & excitement to the playground at Curie, & to provide community building games that our PE consultants can utilize during their lessons. Ask your student if they've had a chance to check it out!

Standley Middle School PTSA Elections

Are you the parent of a 5th grader who will be attending 6th grade at Standley Middle School in the fall? Consider joining the PTSA Board! Board elections are coming up on Wednesday, March 22 & nominations need to be posted by Wednesday, February 22. For more information about the nominating process, open board positions, & general volunteer opportunities at Standley Middle School, click here.

Thank You From the Student Council!

Thanks to our supportive student shoppers, the Annual Student Council Valentine Sale was a success. We sold out of all of our items & will be using the sale proceeds to purchase recess equipment for the school! -Curie Student Council

  • We are in the early stages of planning for the Art & Music Showcase, which is coming up in May. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please reach out to Kerri at recordingsecretary@curiepta.org.

  • Curie students in all grade levels enjoyed the Literature Comes to Life assemblies we hosted at the end of January! UTK through 2 grade got to act out The Rainbow Fish & 3rd through 5 grade got to act out The Paper Bag Princess.

  • Mr. B is out of paper of all types & also in need of a Sharpie restock. Please view his wish list here if you are able to make a donation to the art room. Thank you for your support!

  • The Garden Club has lots of opportunities to get involved in 2023! Every Friday after school, volunteers spend an hour or two working in the garden (weeding, mulching, making plant markers, & more). Preparation for an upcoming plant sale is also in full swing so if you are interested in donating seed starts & succulent cuttings to the club, the collection area for these items is located by the mural wall in the community garden.

  • Past newsletters can now be found on our website!
