Literature Comes to Life Assembly: January 30 & 31

The first PTA hosted assembly of 2023 is coming up at the end of the month! The assembly, Literature Comes to Life, will take place over two days as students from UTK through 2nd grade & then 3rd through 5th grade will participate in their own separate, age-appropriate assemblies. Students in both cohorts will participate in bringing storybook characters & stories to life on stage!

Nominating Committee for PTA Executive Board

We are recruiting 2-3 PTA members who would like to serve on the Nominating Committee for the election of Executive Board offices this spring. The Committee is a great opportunity to identify future leaders of the Curie PTA. The Parliamentarian, Nicole Ogden, will assist the committee to nominate individuals for open executive board positions (all positions are open every annual election cycle). Committee members will communicate primarily through email & meet via Zoom. Members can expect a very flexible schedule & minimal time commitment. If you or someone you know is interested in either serving on the Nominating Committee or putting your name in for a board position, please contact Nicole at parliamentarian@curiepta.org. Thank you!

Get Involved with the Curie Garden Club

The Garden Club has lots of opportunities to get involved in 2023! Every Friday after school, volunteers spend an hour or two working in the garden (weeding, mulching, making plant markers, & more). If Friday doesn't work with your schedule, that's ok; anytime you want to get your hands dirty during the week is fine! Preparation for an upcoming plant sale is also in full swing so if you are interested in donating seed starts & succulent cuttings to the club, the collection area for these items is located by the mural wall in the community garden. Check out the link below to find more ways to get involved.

Multi-Cultural Fair: February 16

At Curie's upcoming annual Multi-Cultural Fair, students will have a chance to experience many of the cultures & nationalities that are represented in our school community. Children will visit & interact with Curie volunteers at various booths showcasing a multitude of cultures, customs, & traditions. The Curie Multi-Cultural Fair has always been a very popular event & we would like to invite you to participate. We welcome you to be an exhibitor, a coordinator, or a tour guide & help us spread the wealth of knowledge of our international community. You don’t have to be from a specific country in order to represent it. We welcome anyone who may have an ancestry, lived abroad, or have an affiliation to a country. Please visit: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4ba9aa2ca5f5c34-multicultural#/ to sign up today. Please respond by January 27. Booth locations are based on a first come first serve basis. Times & responsibilities are listed below. For further information please contact Nilou Mostofi at nilou@km-direct.com or (858) 337-3991.
