Shoebox Science Kits
The Shoebox Science program is funded by the PTA & will be available this year through the school library for students in grades 1 through 5. This program provides a hands-on learning experience for your entire family. A science activity kit (housed in a shoebox-sized container) is checked out of the library & the activities are done at home. Students may check out a kit on their regularly scheduled library day & return it the following week. Each kit contains:
Activity instructions
List of supplies provided in the kit
List of supplies to be provided by the student
Evaluation form
The supplies that need to be provided from home are common household items. Please contact us (sciencecommittee@curiepta.org) to let us know if any of the items need to be replenished. Some activities require adult supervision regardless of grade level. Parents should always review the instructions to determine the level of adult supervision required by their student. Most of the activities contain items that remain in the kit. If these items are lost or broken, it will be the student’s responsibility to replace them. The PTA will replace all the consumable items in the kit. Please note that lost kits will be charged $10 payable to Curie PTA. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
