Jog-A-Thon Update
Thank you to all who volunteered & came to watch your children participate in the Curie Colt Stampede this year! There are still 5 days left to fundraise & we are getting closer everyday to our goal of raising $70,000 for Curie! Upon reaching our school-wide goal, students will get to attend a Pie the Principal assembly; there are also many more incentives for top-earning grade levels & classrooms! In addition to these funds paying for art, music, & PE teachers, the Curie PTA uses funds raised to purchase new playground equipment, provide teacher stipends for use in the classroom, host programs & events (like the Art & Music Festival, Red Ribbon Week, the Multicultural Fair), & much more! Red Ribbon Week: October 24-28
Curie Colts have a lot of surprises to look forward to this week, & you probably saw a flyer come home detailing the themes for each day of Spirit Week (from October 24 - 28). There has been an adjustment due to a schedule change for one of our assemblies so please note the theme swap for Thursday & Friday! If you'd like to purchase spirit wear in advance of Friday, shirts & sweatshirts will be for sale in front Curie after school on Tuesday, 10/25 & Thursday, 10/27! Cash, credit cards, & checks are all acceptable forms of payment.
Curie Family Lunch: October 28
Join your student(s) for lunch on Friday, Oct. 28 at Curie. Another family member is welcome to attend if a parent can't make it! This is a fun time to connect with other families & see what your child gets up to on the playground. Bring your lunch (check out the fundraisers we have going on that coincide with Family Lunch this year!) & a blanket for picnic seating or eat at the tables in the lunch arbor. Arrive by 11:30 AM for check-in; gates open at 12 PM. Discuss a meeting spot with your child ahead of time! *Please check-in at the back gate for TK/K/1st/2nd grades & the front gate for 3rd/4th/5th grades. Jersey Mike's Dine-Out for Family Lunch
We're partnering with Jersey Mike's this year to provide another great option for grabbing a meal to bring to Family Lunch! Show this flyer at the store on Friday, October 28, & 15% of the proceeds from your order will be donated to Curie. We suggest placing your orders online well ahead of time to beat the rush and receive priority service. Just type 'Curie' into the comments section. Digital or paper copy of the flyer will be accepted.
5th Grade Promotion Committee Fundraiser at Family Lunch!
If you pre-purchased tickets from the 5th Grade Promotion Committee last week, head to the tables in front of the library to pick up your pizza lunch on Friday, October 28. All proceeds go toward 5th grade promotion & promotion activities. Thank you for your support!
We Have a Job for the Curie Crew!
The Curie Crew works together to execute specific campus improvement projects as needed throughout the year. The PTA recently purchased 2 gaga ball pits & the Curie Crew is looking for volunteers who can help install them on the playground! The gaga pits need to be permanently affixed to the blacktop so drilling & tools will be needed to safely install. Send an email to curiecrew@curiepta.org to find out how you can help.
Annual Student Council Elections
Annual Student Council campaigns have begun as 4th & 5th graders from each classroom have been nominated to run for officer positions. Candidates will create a poster to display for their campaign, & will present a speech to the entire upper grade. Voting takes place in 3rd-5th grade classrooms on Election Day, which is November 8th. Good luck to all of our candidates!
The Curie Community Fair is scheduled for Saturday December 3! If you know a vendor interested in participating, please email Jennifer at curiecraftfair@curiepta.org to request a vendor registration form.
