Dear Curie Families,
I am thrilled to welcome you back to school for the 2020-2021 school year at Curie Elementary! All of us at Curie are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. The faculty and staff have been working very hard preparing the school and classrooms for an exciting year of learning and growth. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors—teachers, students and parents—are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment.
Professionally, I received my Masters of Education from Pepperdine University, and I graduated this past May with a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System. I have experience as a classroom teacher, staff developer, and academic coach. Additionally, I have nine years’ experience serving as a principal of two elementary schools. During my time as an educator and administrator, I spent a great deal of my time working on professional development committees, supporting new curriculum initiatives and student growth opportunities. In my eyes, one of the most important aspects of my work as Curie’s principal is building solid relationships with students, families and staff. It will be very important to me to be in the hallways, classrooms and on the playground getting to know your children. In my past experience, I have found that kids really appreciate a person who genuinely invests in them and who is fair in decision making. These two things are extremely important to me.
Student success is the goal of every staff member at Curie Elementary. We believe with our dedication to high quality, research-based best practices and practicing a growth mindset, every student will learn to his/her full potential. I feel extremely honored to be at Curie, and I am really eager to get to know all of you and your children.
