Curie Class Cup: June 5 - 9

It's almost time for the Curie Class Cup! Each year, students in all grade levels participate in a variety of field day games with the goal of earning points for their classes. The class with the most points at the end of the week wins the Curie Class Cup. We can't wait to see which class comes out on top! We're recruiting volunteers to help with this event - click the button below to see the schedule (spots fill up quickly!).

Save the Date for Curie Family Lunch: Friday, June 9

Join your student(s) for lunch on Friday, June 9 at Curie. Another family member is welcome to attend if a parent can't make it! This is a fun time to connect with other families & see what your child gets up to on the playground. Bring your lunch & a blanket for picnic seating or eat at the tables in the lunch arbor. Plan to arrive by 11:30 AM for check-in; gates open at 12 PM. Be sure to discuss a meeting spot with your child ahead of time! *Please check-in at the back gate for TK/K/1st/2nd grades & the front gate for 3rd/4th/5th grades. Wrist bands will be provided at check-in.*

Save the Date for 5th Grade Promotion

The Curie 5th Grade Promotion will be held on Wednesday, June 14 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Each family may invite 4 family members to attend the ceremony. Invitations are coming home soon. We look forward to sharing this special day with you!

New Soccer Goals - Courtesy of Student Council!

Using proceeds from their annual Valentine's Day sale, the Curie Student Council has purchased new soccer goals for Curie! Look for them to be set up on the black top at recess.

2023-2024 Vacant PTA Executive Board Positions

We are still looking to fill the following PTA Executive Board positions for next year.

  • VP Event Coordinator (Main duty is to help recruit & coordinate volunteers for events happening on campus, and plan & organize the annual Teacher & Staff Appreciation luncheon. It's helpful to be able to periodically attend in person events on campus.)

  • Parliamentarian (Main duty is attending PTA meetings twice per month - one of these is virtual & the other is hybrid. Conducts annual executive board elections. Low time commitment.)

  • Corresponding Secretary (Main duty is crafting & distributing weekly newsletter & helping to manage socials. Low in-person time commitment.)

As a PTA, we work together to support our school by providing art, music, technology, PE, classroom enrichments, community events, field trips, & many other programs & activities on & off campus. Explore our website to see more of the events & programming we provide around campus, & to consider where you can fit in to help make an impact! If you have any interest in learning more about the open board positions, please email Nicole at: parliamentarian@curiepta.org.

  • Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual Art & Music Showcase on Wednesday! The chairs of the Art & Music Showcase Committee, Kerri Bertrand & Jenni Owen, put in countless hours (along with many dedicated volunteers) to plan & put on this event. Curie Art Consultant, Lee Bertrand; PTA Music Consultant, Deb O'Neill; & Visual & Performing Arts (VAPA) Instructors, Katherine Pupping, Mehta Avinash, & Nico Pachano Gonzalez all did a wonderful job preparing our students to showcase the skills they've been developing all year.

  • As always, past newsletters can be found on our website!

Current Opportunities:

  • Our librarian, Stephanie Perea is looking for 3-4 volunteers to help her organize the library. She is specifically looking for damaged books & to make sure all books are checked back in. This may take 1-2 days, depending on volunteer interest & commitment. Ms. Perea is on campus every Wednesday until 4 PM. If you are interested, she can review tasks with you on a Wednesday & then you are free to come back & organize another day according to your schedule. Please contact Ms. Perea with questions & interest at sperea@sandi.net.

  • Curie is looking for volunteers for lunch duty; email Penny in the front office at pcavanagh@sandi.net.
