Upcoming PTA Executive Board Elections

PTA Executive Board elections are coming up on Wednesday, April 19 at the general association meeting. While all positions are open, we are focusing on the vacancies listed below in particular. To qualify, a candidate must be a PTA member in good standing (dues paid) 30 days prior to elections. (we can work on this with you, if necessary).
Vacant Board Positions:
Leads the PTA towards specific goals chosen by its members. Attends all PTA meetings and Board meetings.
VP Ways & Means
Coordinates fundraising for the PTA, including Jog-a-thon, Party with a Purpose, dine-outs and all other fundraising.
VP Room Reps
Coordinates with PTA and classroom representatives on communication to parents.
VP Event Coordinator
Coordinates with PTA, Principal, and teachers regarding volunteer assignments at Curie, organizes Teacher Appreciation Week, hospitality, and service awards.
Coordinates with PTA and chairpersons regarding Spirit Wear, Junior Olympics, K/1st/2nd games days, Back-to-School night and family lunches.
Captures, assembles and preserves record of activities and achievements of the PTA. Collects volunteer hours for PTA meetings and events. Completes and submits the PTA Unit-Annual Historian Report to council/district PTA. Fills out Historian Summary and records reports.
Audits the books and financial records of the PTA to determine their accuracy. Presents written reports on audits to the Board and the association for adoption. Forwards copies of adopted audits to council/district PTA as indicated in unit bylaws.
Assists the president to manage meetings and advises on parliamentary procedure. Chairs bylaws committee to review unit bylaws each year and to revise bylaws every three years. Arranges the nominating committee’s first meeting and provides information on the nomination and election process.
Maintains and distributes weekly e-newsletter, website, and oversees general PTA communication.
